I would venture to say that if you are over a certain age, you don’t know what this is, let alone, what function it serves.

Token Ring. UDC (Universal Data Connector) I think. Still used today in my old company – though with Ethernet convertors or something like that.
Correct! I had to post this, as @duffbert made me remember that we have quite a few of these still on the walls. Not used, but still there.
I’m glad they knew the answers… I’m a developer and had no clue. 🙂
The last one of these I unplugged was just three weeks ago. Old, but not dead. They will outlast Quickr 😉
Token Ring, last used it in 1994
Actually very clever “androgynous” connector — connect any to any – no male/female difference. And I’m old, but have only seen them in legacy cables under desks here and there 😉
